Company background and history

Contiweb was founded in 1978 in Lausanne, Switzerland, and moved to Boxmeer, The Netherlands, in 1982 after which it became a subsidiary of the Dutch Stork consortium.
In those days the first wider and faster web offset presses were introduced to the market; igniting a very disruptive period in the worldwide graphical arts business during the late 80s and 90s.
As part of a strategic plan to become a worldwide market leader in web offset, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen acquired Contiweb in 1996. This was an important milestone in the international expansion of Contiweb. In 2004 Contiweb was sold and became a subsidiary of Goss International, located in Durham/NH (USA).
The company currently employs approximately 230 people, a significant number of whom are employed in research and development and service.
